Jason Kirkness grew up in the small farming community of Kleefeld, Manitoba, where music, family, and prairie life shaped his songwriting. A 2023 Manitoba Country Music Association Male Artist of the Year, Kirkness has built a reputation as one of Canada’s rising country stars.
His debut album, What Got Me Here, blends pop-country sounds with the storytelling that has become his signature. His breakout single “Anywhere the Night Goes” spent 18 weeks in Canada’s Billboard Top 50.
A seasoned live performer, Kirkness has played more than 150 shows in a year while continuing to write—sometimes as many as 100 songs annually. Whether singing about ATVs, good times, or the people and places that shaped him, Kirkness keeps his music grounded in real life.
