Fire Fighters , a Tent and a ROOF!
FIRE-FIGHTERS are on the Roof! It’s day one for the annual Rooftop Camp-out at the Osborne Street Fire-hall. It’s a 4 day event, where team members make the roof their home, raising funds and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy.
Road toll volunteers will be seen during morning and afternoon rush hours, holding out rubber boots , for donations. Even though much of the money raised is corporate sponsored, most come from donations off the street. Chad Swayze, Alan Bartley, Rhema Idonije , Conner Normandin and Eric Dyck have all volunteered to give 72 hours for the cause while living in a rooftop tent.
Wednesday , Osborne Village Biz takes part with lots of activities and tasty meals for the crew. Thursday it’s Safeway’s turn to deliver meals via the aerial truck. Friday, following the morning tolls, a cheque worth thousands will be presented to Muscular Dystrophy! You can help make that cheque a big one ,by donating at https://muscle.akaraisin.com/pledge/Event/Donation.aspx?seid=14077&mid=29
