Country Queens on Top: Ella Langley and Megan Moroney Make Billboard History Together
Ella Langley and Megan Moroney are side by side at the top of the Billboard charts!
In the nearly 70-year history of Billboard’s two biggest charts, there has never been a moment when two country women held No. 1 simultaneously on the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200.
Until now.
Ella’s single, “Choosin’ Texas,” has returned to No. 1 for a second consecutive week. The track — co-written with Miranda Lambert — appears on her sophomore album, “Dandelion.”
Meanwhile, Megan’s new album, “Cloud 9,” released nearly two weeks ago, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the first time she’s topped the chart.
For the past year, there’s been speculation that the two weren’t on the best terms following the rumored Riley Green love triangle. But that chatter may have finally quieted down, as both women commented on this post.
And honestly, it should. They each have so much momentum right now — they should be joining forces instead of being pitted against each other. And fighting over a guy? That’s so high school.
This is a massive moment for women in country music, and it proves they’re not slowing down anytime soon.
