Keith Urban Is Entering His “Yacht Rock Era” – And It’s Happening Next Week
Keith Urban is teasing a big surprise for fans next week—and it sounds like something a little unexpected..
“Next week we all set sail. Don’t be late to the dock. Oh, and by the way, something extra smooth is coming to Nashville one week from today. Clear your calendars. Don’t say I didn’t warn you,”
All signs point to his “Yacht Rock Era,” which he first teased during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville back in March.

“It’s the first time I’ve done an album of covers. There is one original on the record. It’s a thematic record… yacht rock songs,” he said. “You think I’m kidding? I’m not kidding.”
For those unfamiliar with yacht rock, same. But apparently it’s a smooth, laid-back style of soft rock popular in the late ’70s and early ’80s.
Whether this project leans fully into that retro sound or adds Urban’s own modern twist remains to be seen—but we won’t have to wait long to find out!
