Bindi Irwin Barbie and more “Role Model” Barbies released in honour of International Women’s Day…take a look!
Steve Irwin (aka The Crocodile Hunter)’s little girl, Bindi Irwin, is all grown up and living her dad’s vision by taking up his torch for animal conservation. She is an inspiration to many and just one of the inspirational women (past and present) represented* in a new crop of “Role Model” Barbie Dolls! Barbie’s parent company surveyed 8000 moms and 86% were worried about the kind of role models being presented to their little girls. This new line of “Inspiring Women” dolls is Barbie’s answer.
(*Note: Bindi Irwin’s Barbie is one of the new additions to the Barbie “Shero” line)
Dolls in the series include Katherine Johnson, NASA Mathematician and Physicist, Amelia Earhart, the first female to fly across the Atlantic Ocean and Frida Kahlo, acclaimed Mexican artist and activist.
Each “Inspiring Women” doll comes with educational information about the way each woman shaped society.
Barbie’s “Shero” line (introduced in 2015) also got some updates including, gold-winning Olympic snowboarder, Chloe Kim, world-renowned chef, Hélène Darroze and more!
