Manitoba Metis , so important to our History at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights .
Too often we forget about the importance of LOUIS Riel and the Metis People to Manitoba’s History. Yesterday overflow crowds took advantage of the Metis Rights Tour which debuted yesterday , on Louis Riel Day.
It’s been described as a walk through our Province’s past. Six stops along the way takes us from the ground floor all the way to the top. Along with works of art, the journey offers insight into the Metis history, development and culture of Manitoba. One which is complex in terms of human rights , organizers claim was hidden on purpose for the longest time. Examples of land claims, the Manitoba Act, and John A. Macdonald cheating the Red River Métis out of their land base
If you missed the tour during yesterday’s Monday’s debut , it will be offered through the year as a group offering and can be booked via the museum’s website. https://humanrights.ca
