Winnipeg Painter named ARTIST of the Year !
Winnipeg’s Joseph Koensgen has been named as Duck’s Unlimited’s 2018 Artist of the year. His painting above titled, TERRITORY becomes part of a portfolio which helps raise funds for life-saving wetland conservation. Wetlands , for those not knowing are some of the most important ecosystems on Earth. They clean water naturally, help prevent flooding , drought and mitigate the effects of climate change by holding large amounts of carbon.
This painting , TERRITORY is a Koensgens’ personal view while out in the Manitoba Wilderness one cool morning coming upon a marsh full of mist lit by early morning sunshine and a stately Moose to compliment the scene.
