JoJo Mason Brings The Smiles!
Dan Swinimer is a well known name in the Canadian music industry. Not only is he extremely skilled on the drums, backup vocals, and song writing (which was the role he was in when I first met him back in 2001, as a member of the rock band Superbeing 77), but the guy is a magnet for wonderfully talented people. It seems like wherever Dan goes, he finds an up and coming artist that has the talent, drive, and genuine likability to succeed in the country genre. Madeline Merlo is the first example, JoJo Mason is the second. Both are extremely humble and kind, that it’s possible Tim McGraw sings his hit song in honour of them. When Dan first discovered JoJo, I remember talking to him over the phone, and he couldn’t hide his excitement and enthusiasm for his new artist. It wasn’t just that JoJo brought a new and unique sound to Canadian country music, it was also that JoJo was one of the most “real” people he had ever come across. We saw it when they came to participate in the QX104 Slo Pitch 4 a Wish Tournament. JoJo quickly became the talk of the weekend due to his infectious personality. If JoJo was in a room, smiles and laughter would soon follow. So, when Jess and I were talking about spreading positive news through the month of December, we knew we had to get JoJo involved some how, some way. Thankfully, he was on board with the idea of “Good Vibes with JoJo Mason”, even though it means he has to get up at 5:30am Pacific Time. Every Monday, the country artist will share his favourite “positive” story that he came across from the week prior…a simple way to start the next week with a smile. Have listen below.
