The Memory Tree goes up in St. Vital Centre!
CHRISTMAS is a Happy Time for most. For some it’s a time of grief. Sad as that may seem it’s reality for those dealing with the passing of a loved one. Since I lost my mom on December 18th several years ago the feelings of loss remain.
Thursday will mark 30 years for Palliative Manitoba to raise a MEMORY Tree in the St. Vital Shopping Centre. Over the years thousands have placed a memorial card on this tree in memory of someone who has passed.
Palliative Manitoba offers support for those experiencing a life threatening condition so they might live well until life’s end while those around them might be cared for in the process. Its’ bereavement support programs have touched thousands of grieving people. Cards are FREE so make a point to mark one in memory of your loved . Volunteers will be there right through Christmas to help you. By the way nearly 2000 such cards were hung last year-380 of which were for Children. Here’s a personal statement from CAROL , who found the Memory Tree to be a place to remember.
